I’m grateful to Karen Murray from Riverside Glen for the kind invitation to be part of such a meaningful afternoon.

The film beautifully highlights the wisdom, life stories, and lived experiences of older adults. It serves as a gentle but important reminder that every person carries a lifetime of insight—stories shaped by decades of change, resilience, love, and learning.

In my work supporting seniors and their families through life transitions, I’m reminded every day just how important those stories are. Whether we’re sorting through a home filled with memories or preparing for a new chapter, there is always a deeper story beneath the surface. And often, what matters most isn’t just what we do—it’s how we take the time to listen.

When we slow down and truly listen, we gain perspective. We begin to understand what holds meaning, what brings comfort, and what deserves to be carried forward into the next stage of life. These moments of connection are where trust is built—and where transitions become a little less overwhelming and a lot more human.

It was a wonderful afternoon celebrating the voices and experiences of older adults in our community. A reminder, too, that sometimes the most impactful thing we can offer is our attention—and the willingness to simply sit, listen, and learn.
